Lifehack seeks to spark new ideas to improve youth wellbeing, and support the great mahi/work already happening in the community at the grass roots level.
We run a range of different events around the country – we’ve run and been involved in events in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Southland, West Coast and Northland.
Check out this video from our first event in 2014:
and this one from Southland in Youth Week:
Our Events bring together people kanohi ki te kanohi (face-to-face) and online to catalyse action for youth wellbeing.
Whether it’s gathering 30 bright minds to design and hack together a mobile app for emotional regulation through music, designing a website and posters for the town’s next youth festival, or connecting the local twitter-ninja to a youth project which needs a social media presence – we’re always seeking ways to work with the strengths of people and connect them to projects and people which need their skills and time.
Whilst we focus our events on catalysing, combining and collaborating new and existing wellbeing projects, we also seek to bake in learning and development around Wellbeing, Technology and Social Entrepreneurship – transferring these skills and knowledge to people enables them to carry it on with them into their lives.
We also aim to make our events Wellbeing experiences in themselves – so we bake in the 5 Ways to Wellbeing into each of them – Give, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice, Connect. By people experiencing these 5 Ways throughout the events, they understand the power of paying attention to these in their lives, and are able to share this with friends and whanau.
We hope to see you at one of our events, or if there’s nothing coming up in your area – please get in touch to bring Lifehack to you!
